Now two years later Violet’s hair doesn’t seem to have made much progress. It’s sparse and is taking FOREVER to fill in and grow long.

She is now approximately 2 years, 5 months old. I try to remain positive and thought I remembered that her sisters were in the same situation at that age. To help Violet’s case I decided to find pictures of her big sisters at the same age. Unfortunately, I discovered that both sisters already had great heads of hair at that point.

Annie’s locks look short because of the tight curls. However, when I gave her a bath her hair came down well beyond halfway down her back.

In Mimi’s case her mane was already long and flowing.

I don’t know what Violet’s hair future holds, but we still love her no matter what. I suppose I should try to get better at French braiding and other cute styles to help her out.

At the museum.

Violet went missing for a couple of minutes and freaked us adults out. She suddenly peaked her little face around the corner at the top of the stairs. That sneaky toddler.

Of course, we couldn’t leave the museum without our traditional pose in front on the sign display.

Earlier in the week we took Grandma to the Watertown Mall. Mainly, the girls wanted to go to Claire’s. What is it about little girls loving Claire’s? Grandma let each girl pick something out. Annie picked out the glasses. No, not sunglasses. Just glasses.

Mimi got a pair of sunglasses, and Violet got some hair thingies. I was tempted to get these.

Grandma also treated the girls to a ride.

We really enjoyed our visit with Grandma and hope that the cold didn’t scare her off for good. Maybe a summer trip next time.

And one last one of the girls hanging out in their new playhouse. Daddy converted one of the farm rooms for them to use. Last night they even put up Xmas lights along the ceiling. So fun! The little girls with them is our new neighbor who is also their new BFF.

Violet was not shy about getting right in and getting right to work.

All the other kids took their time getting wet. The waist-deep wading area is just off to the right.

The kids spent the bulk of the time just running around chasing the fountains and each other.

As a final hurrah the kids all dumped buckets of water on their heads. Just in time for the wet drive home.

The last weekend before we closed on our home we found ourselves homeless. We decided to make it fun and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in town that has an indoor water park. It’s not huge, but there’s enough stuff to keep the kids busy. The giant slide is only open in the evenings, so I missed out on the opportunity to get pictures of the girls going down it. Mike took the big girls to the park at night while I got Violet ready for bed.

Once Violet got on this teeter totter she didn’t want to get off. Only problem was that her side spit out a stream of water every time she went down, so nobody wanted to see saw with her for very long.

If you tried to convince Violet to switch sides or get off, all you got was, “Nooooooo!!!!” in return.

The girls took a quick dip in the big pool and showed me how they could stay underwater for a nanosecond.

I told Mike that if the winter starts to get too long that maybe we could take a quick getaway to the Holiday Inn Express. I wouldn’t mind going just to sit in the hot tub for a LONG while.

I can’t believe all these kids were brave enough to venture onto the Demon which is upside down in the background. We all went on it twice!

Here we are about to take off on the Demon. Can you see the absolute fear in Mimi’s face? We got more of a kick out of her combination screaming and groaning “DADDY” on each drop or scary turn.

The Johnsons are pros at this by now since they had already been to Six Flags 2 times before during this season.

On the Whizzer.

Chloe wasn’t as keen about going on the Whizzer as the rest of the group.

While Julie and I snuck off to go on one of the big kid rides Seth managed to snap this picture of the kids on a coaster. Once again Mimi looks completely freaked out.

VIolet and Chloe were a bit limited on what they could ride, but there was the Flintstones Land (don’t know the actual name) that had rides only for little kids.

The little ones were just as happy running around and being silly instead of riding rides.

Just what the kids needed to add to their energy: MORE SUGAR!

Of course, Mike couldn’t resist being Mike and doing one of his stunts.

Our one group picture was right after we got drenched on the Logger’s Run. Oh well, I’m just glad to have us all together for even just one shot.

Thanks again to the Johnsons for treating us to a day of recreation. We hope to plan something with our families again one day in the future. We miss you guys already:(
